NOWHERE in this thread has 151 supported the idea of forcing the paper
to print the response. However, if you believe a newspaper should be
concerned with informing their readership you can't help but think the
NYT has fallen WAY short with this move.
I don't care for McCain at all but this isn't a case of Joe Schmo
sending in an off the wall diatribe. One of the 2 potential commander
in chief candidates just sent his opposing position and the NYT didn't
think it was newsworthy.
You can't claim objectivity and then tell a potus candidate to rewrite
his position based on you ideology. Yes, I understand the difference
between news and opinion but this episode is simply laughable. The NYT
might as well start calling themselves the daily kos if they are only
willing to print one side of a very important issue in the upcoming
election.
