I have been working downtown for a year now and have been surprised
at how lively it is. Concerts, sporting events, nightclubs, the
World of Coca Cola and the Aquariam, conventions and activities in
Centenial Park really draw a large number of people downtown. It
really seems close to a "tipping point" for desireability.
The problem is that the city needs to develop the political will to
do something about the homeless/panhandling population. It makes
one feel less-than safe.
But don't go to Underground. Many of the stores there are
struggling.
