Not sure I understand HC Meyer's argument. He's complaing that
the NCAA's ban on text messaging recruits is what partially prevents
him from getting to know the kid, yet the rash of arrents and of the
field incidents at UF are the same guys he recruited using text
messages?
Seems the best way to get to know about a young man's character is
to go out and meet his HS coaches, teachers, family members, and
especially the young man himself. Text message communication is for
people who aready know each other very well. HC Meyer is using it
as a way to keep tabs on who else is trying to recruit the player,
not to actually learn about the young man as a person.
